The VSO's November 6th-7th concert brings together three different musical works, and two young international soloists. After a dramatic opener, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No.2, two pianists — Yukiko Akagi from Japan and Alex Alguacil of Spain — join The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra to play Poulenc’s capricious Concerto for Two Pianos.

Pianist Yukiko Akagi is described as, “a pianist who takes everyone’s breath away.” A native of Tokyo, she now makes her home in New York City. Ms. Akagi has performed in the U.S., France, Spain and Japan.
Pianist Alex Alguacil made his début at the “Palau de la Música” in Barcelona performing with the Vallès Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Salvador Brotons. Now living in New York City, Mr. Alguacil is described as a "powerful and technically brilliant musician."
